Powering Sustainable Growth with Solar Energy
Driving Egypt’s clean energy transition through large-scale solar investments.
Our Contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
As part of Juhayna’s long-term environmental strategy, the company partnered with Karm Solar to establish Egypt’s first private-sector solar power generation station in 2016, followed by a major expansion in 2022 through the construction of a hybrid central power plant at Al-Enmaa Farm in the New Valley.
This state-of-the-art facility integrates solar panels, diesel generators, and battery storage systems, enabling 65% of the farm’s energy needs to be sourced from renewable solar power, while significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
| Metric | Verified Result |
| Installed solar capacity | 8.3 MW |
| Annual diesel reduction | 600,000 liters |
| CO₂ emissions avoided | 1,620 tons annually |
| Energy supplied by solar | 65% of farm needs |
| Company energy from solar (2024) | 16% of total energy |
In 2024, Juhayna significantly expanded its on-site solar capacity, tripling renewable energy generation to 73,320 kWh, compared to 23,184 kWh in 2023. This expansion avoided 34 metric tons of CO₂ emissions, while sharply reducing dependence on grid electricity.
